The removal of A80 signs at Castlecary and the removal of shrubs along the A80 verge also look like a bad sign.

ATTENDED BY, Albert MacBeath, Marjory MacBeath, Tommy McKay, George Ferguson & Joyce Ferguson.

CORRISPONDANCE, This was read out and dealt with.

REACTION TO LAST MEETING, It was felt that the Scottish Executive’s Mr Vance took a very negative stand at the meeting. All promises made by the Scottish Executives Mr Ringrose are now void. It was decided by our committee to wait and see how our MSP Cathie Craigie got on with her questions to the Road and First Minister.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, Our Councillor Gordon Murray is still making enquiries into where our Christmas lights have went to. Gordon said that he hopes to have this resolved soon.

DUNBLANE HYDRO, Thank you to Joyce and George for arranging this night out. All monies for this event have now been paid and we look forward to another good night out. This event has been fully funded by our members with no cost to our groups funds.

M80, The draft orders have now been published again. Albert & Marjory went through to Edinburgh’s Court Of Session to enquire about lodging an appeal. The costs involved in this were deemed to be to high, so an appeal will be made to the Local Government Ombudsman instead.

CASTLECARY ROAD, We have had no word back yet from North Lanarkshire Council with regards to road calming measures or any other of our proposals. It was decided to wait until the New Year and then pursue this further.

POPPY WREATH, The wreath had been ordered and delivered to our group from the Lady Haig fund. A larger donation to this group was made by us this year. Total cost was £30 for wreath and donation.

TREASURERS REPORT. George gave a report which was accepted by all.

MEMORIAL GARDEN, Invitations have been printed by Albert & Marjory for the event on the 11th of November and these have been sent to Councillor Murray, MSP C Craigy, NLC, FDC, special guests and all residents of Castlecary. George & Joyce will buy the snacks, drinks and gifts. Tommy and Mark have made some finishing touches to the garden, and will also arrange for the tents to be set up.
Young Holly will open the main garden with Gordon Murray unavailing the Memorial Wall. Speeches will be made by our group and several of the invited guests.

An programme of speakers and agenda for the day will be made to help the day go more smoothly. Several volunteers have came forward to help at this event. These include, Jim & Liz O’Connor, Ritchie Family, McKay family, MacBeath Family, Russell Family, Graham Grier, Ferguson Family. Any other main helpers who have been missed will be mentioned in our next minutes.

Thank you to everybody who helped with the garden and it is hoped that this day will go as well as all our events in the past. A special thank you for all the hard work and dedication of all our committee members.

Minutes For The 29th Of November 2006

ATTENDED BY, Albert MacBeath, Marjory MacBeath, Tommy McKay, George Ferguson & Joyce Ferguson

CORRISPONDANCE, This was read out and dealt with.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, Councillor Murray called to say that our Villages lights will be installed this year, and all going well should be on this list for each year in the future. Tommy will phone the Council to confirm this.

M80, our group are still arguing our case for proper noise and sound mitigation measurers. Mr Vance from the Scottish Executive is proving to be a real pain in the ******* ****, and his department is going back on several promises which they made to our group. Hopefully we will get an opportunity to fight for a fairer deal for our community in the near future.

DUNBLANE HYDRO, Thank you to George & Joyce for arranging another very nice evening at the Hydro. A great night of fun was had by all our guests and we look forward to this even again next year.

POPPY WREATH, The wreath was laid beside the memorial stone by Tommy. A larger donation was made to the Lady Haig fund this year by our group, and it is hoped that we will be able to do the same again next year.

MEMORIAL GARDEN OPENING, thank you again to all who helped organise this very nice and long awaited event. Our group are very proud of our new garden, and we shall continue to improve on this important feature within our Village. Albert will ask Kirsty Gray again, if we can have a copy of the pictures which were taken by the NLC agency photographer.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS / CARDS, because of the large project expenditure of our group this year, it was decided to give all residents a Christmas card, instead of the usual Christmas gift. Next year it was suggested that we design and possibly print calendars for all residents instead of a gift.

TREASURERS REPORT, This was given by George and accepted by all.

AOB, Gazebo and barbecue storage units were to be looked at and priced for our next meeting. A screen of trees between the new Memorial Garden and the adjacent property will be planted next Spring.

NEXT MEETING, There will be no meetings during December 2006 or January 2007. The next meeting will be on the 27th of Feb 2007.
