Minutes for the 28th of April 2004

Attended by, A MacBeath, M MacBeath, G Grier, G Ferguson, J Ferguson, J Kelly, G Hendry, T McKay and guests from Watch us Grow ( Gail ) & Councillor Murray.

MEMORIAL GARDEN, Various options for the design of the East side section of our Memorial Garden were discussed with Gail from Watch Us Grow. A rough design was drawn up which included picnic benches, shrubs & trees. A decision was taken to go ahead with this project hopefully this Summer, but this would depend on various factors which included, finance and fitting in with the Watch Us Grow working schedule. Gail will get us prices for benches and a sitting area for our Villages teenagers from the Alpha group.

MOTORWAY, A80 / M80, Gordon Murray spoke about statuary objections to the M80, and said it was important that all the phases of the proposed M80 should be heard under the one enquiry. Albert will look at the literature that Councillor Murray has supplied, and will act on his advice.

MEETING WITH THE SCOTTISH EXECUTIVE, it was felt that this meeting went very well and that our points were listened to and will be acted on. Our Community Council have been told that our group will be involved in future discussions regarding the M80, especially the Castlecary section. It was felt that some invited guests to our meeting did not have Castlecary’s best intentions as there main topic. With regards to future meetings, it was voted that our future meeting should involve Castlecary residents & Councillor only. It was also felt that Castlecary residents were being asked to much of by other groups regarding the M80 campaign. It was suggested again, that other Community Councils and groups should try to arrange meetings with the Scottish Executive to get there message across instead of always asking our group to try " this or that ".

AWG MEETING, it was decided to cancel the meeting with the road building group AWG, who are presently building the Auchinkils junction. Our group could not see any benefit in being told what was is being built, rather than ! being consulted on the project. It was suggested that we should tell AWG to hold a meeting in Cumbernauld for all interested parties.

TREASURERS REPORT, George gave a summary of our accounts which were accepted. Councillor Murray also gave us details of our grant allocation for which we are very grateful.

DUNBLANE HYDRO, it was voted to have our Christmas night out at Dunblane Hydro again this year. This event is not subsidised by our group, and all costs are covered totally by our committee members. Thank you to Joyce for organising such a great party night.

GARDEN PARTY, it was decided that the date for our annual Castlecary Garden Party will be the 26th of June at 2pm. Barbecue, music & refreshments will be served to all our guests courtesy of our Community Council & Residents Association.

AOB, purchase of a hut or porto cabin was discussed and carried forward.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING, this will be held on the 2nd of June 04.

WELCOME TO THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF

CASTLECARY COMMUNITY COUNCIL

27TH OF OCTOBER 2004

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of Castlecary’s Community Councillors, for their continued support and valued work for our community. Our small contribution to our community can and does make a difference within the Village of Castlecary.

We would also like to thank Councillor Murray for his continued support, and also thank Mr Gaffney & the members of his department and NLC for their guidance and support.

TONIGHTS AGENDA

FOLLOW THE AGENDA ( 1 TO 9 ) which has been sent to us by NLC.

CORRISPONDANCE.

MOTORWAY, the draft orders for phase 2 should be served soon according to our last update from the Scottish Executive. There will also be a meeting this Friday, which is being held by JAG. Jimmy Kelly, Albert & Marjory will be attending. The meeting will start at 9.30am and continue to 3.30pm. There will be several speakers from various groups and associations. A leaflet is available for all to look at. Castlecary Residents Association made a donation of £200 to JAG last month to help the campaign against the A80 upgrade.

MEMORIAL GARDEN, a garden tidy up shall be arranged for next spring.

POPPY WREATH, a wreath has been ordered and delivered to us by the LHPF. A small donation was also given to this charity by our group. It is hoped that this small charitable donation to this group could be increased next year. The wreath will be placed in our Memorial Garden on Remembrance Sunday.

GRASSY KNOWL, George & Joyce have purchased 4 picnic benches from our Council funds. These benches along with other work on this area will be carried out next spring.

DUNBLANE HYDRO, all money for this event should now have been paid to Joyce, who we thank ( along with George ) for once again arranging this night out. All the costs for this event have been paid for by each individual with no cost to our Community Council.

EXPENSES, this week has seen the publication of our MP’s expenses reports in the national papers. It is therefor good and refreshing to note that over the years which our community council has been active, that our group runs on a 100% voluntary basis. All our group members claim no hall hire expenses, phone call expenses, or any other costs to the funds of our group.

TREASURERS REPORT.

QUAD BIKES IN FIELDS, this problem now seems to be being dealt with. NLC, intend to put up new fences, gates and signs to help deal with this problem. Our community council’s main concern is for the safety of the off road users and local residents, as well as keeping our Village a quiet and safe place to live.

AOB & DATE OF NEXT MEETING.
